The AEA Investment Club's purpose is to provide educational information to help our members better plan their investments and financial affairs. Its scope includes all forms of investments - stocks, bonds, mutual funds, partnerships, real estate, etc. - as well as related topics such as financial planning and taxes. Club dues support purchase of investment periodicals, books, and software for our club library.

The AEA Investment Club meets nominally on the third Wednesday of the month.  Meeting time and location may change slightly depending on speaker availability, so specifics will be posted in Around Aerospace on the inside Aerospace company homepage. The meetings are open to all Aerospace and LAAFB employees at no charge. Members receive the following additional benefits:

  • Access to the AEA Investment Club Library
  • Access to recent Club presentations, including:
    • Eric Richter's -  Basic Investing - Part 1  (Sept. 19, 2012)
    • Edward Rosenblatt - Investing In Your Future  (Oct. 10, 2012)
    • Eric Richter's - Investing in Troubled Times (Oct. 31, 2012)
    • Eric Richter's - Balancing Returns and Risk (Jan. 15, 2013)
  • Email receipt of meeting schedules
  • Opportunity to receive reimbursement for investment information purchased and placed in the library
Dues are $12 per year for Aerospace employees and $16 for LAAFB employees. Download a membership form or contact any of the following club board members for more information or a hard copy membership form.
  • Vivian Churchill (President) 336-0882
  • Joe Cheng (Treasurer) 336-2568

A tremendous amount of investment information can be found on the internet. The club maintains a calendar of upcoming regional events. It can be found under the name AEA Investment Club on Lotus Notes.  Contact Eric Richter (310-336-0457) if you have trouble finding it.  The Aerospace VA/AP Mutual fund companies: Fidelity, T. Rowe Price, Vanguard, TIAA-CREF and Scudder all have home pages. Fundlink is an alphabetical list of all mutual fund families that have a home page. Another popular site is CNNfn, the new financial network from CNN. A good site for quotes is The Yahoo Quote Server or you can check out the latest calculation of the U.S. national debt

Remember government and Aerospace computers are for
